Tackling youth unemployment is everybody’s responsibility and by working together we can give young people the skills and experience they need to get started in their careers.
The Local Landscape
Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster contain some of the most deprived wards in the UK.
Young people in these areas face significant disadvantages when it comes to developing their skills and obtaining satisfying and fulfilling employment.
- On average over 34% of children and young people qualify for free school meals, compared to 18% nationally.
- 6% of young people aged 16-19 are not in education, employment or training.
- 55% of primary and secondary school students do not have English as their first language.
Working with businesses can help young people overcome significant disadvantages like these, and remove barriers to them finding jobs and transitioning successfully from education to employment.
With your support we aim to improve the achievements of those young people facing the greatest disadvantages, and offer young people first-hand experiences of the world of work that will transform their lives.
